Was it inappropriate for Nancy Pelosi to wish everyone happy new year last night before announcing shooting?
Nancy Pelosi came out last night to make a statement about the shooting in Tucson AZ. She starts the conversation off by wishing everyone a Happy New Year and then announces there was a shooting that critically injured Gabrielle Giffords and killed Judge John Rolls and Gabe Zimmerman along with 4 other victims…. When you are delivering news such as this, you shouldn’t start with “wish you a Happy New Year”… Just seems totally inappropriate.

It might have been a little cheery, given the occasion, but really it was just a formal greeting to her audience. It could be viewed as inappropriate for the subject of her address, but then again, not greeting her audience could be considered impolite.

I agree that was a mis-fortunate mistake she made. I am sure she regrets it.

Yes, incredibly insensitive and inappropriate. The woman is obviously clueless. To think she was House Speaker for several years is a mind boggler!
