What would happen if there were a major snow storm on Black Friday?

How detrimental would a Black Friday snow storm be for the retail industry. Hypothetically speaking, let’s say the northeast was hit with a blizzard which caused everything to close on Black Friday, how would much of an impact would that make?

I believe it has happened not too long ago. I does affect the entire Christmas shopping season. For consumers it usually lowers prices, because of the slow start of the shopping season.
And that year I believe retail sales never caught back up with normal seasons. I think if it happened this year, it would be devastating to the economy.
Being that we are not quite on good footing economically, it would and probably could re ignite the recession

It would probably end up being Black Saturday or Black Sunday instead. People would still go out and shop. But, they might delay it a day or two, after all the roads are cleared of snow. If it severely limited the amount of shoppers the whole weekend, I would think that the retailers would try again the next weekend somehow.

Then again, it doesn’t snow everywhere, certainly not at the same time. So, the effect would be fairly localized.
