How do you make your Thanksgiving noodles?
I’ve always made homemade noodles like my grandma did, and to get them to taste like hers, I cook them for probably well over an hour, so they get real thick and soak up all the broth. All the recipes online cook them for a very brief time. I was just wondering how others make their Thanksgiving noodles.

I never heard of that, but I’m going to check back to learn more about it!

They tend to get tough when cooked for such a long period of time. What I do is make up some broth with chicken stock and use it to moisten the noodles. This gives them flavor, and you can reduce the cooking time, and have a more tender noodle. Happy Holiday!

Noodles are not a traditional Thanksgiving food but you can have family favorites when ever you want.
An hour is way too long to cook noodles.

Ok, our family always has my grandma’s recipe homemade noodles for Thanksgiving too! Im trying to figure out what the origin of that is…because its not one of the ‘normal’ thanksgiving dishes here in the states. Do you have any idea where the tradition comes from?

reply to Cammie; Noodles ARE in fact a traditional thanksgiving food if that is what you grew up with. there were also boiled ground wheat and corn dumplings from the settlers and indian meals days. if your family did it, and thats what you know, thats tradition
