You can still keep your foods “familiar” yet with a different twist to make it a little more exciting:
Orange Spiced Mixed Nuts
NUTS
• No-Stick Cooking Spray
•1/3 cup Sweet Orange Marmalade
•1 tablespoon paprika
•1 teaspoon ground cumin
•2 cups mixed nuts
SEASONING MIX
•1/4 cup brown sugar
•1/2 teaspoon paprika
•1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
•2 dashes cayenne pepper or to taste (optional)
Directions:
1HEAT oven to 300°F. Line 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan with foil. Lightly coat with no-stick cooking spray. (a 9×13 pan works, too)
2PLACE orange marmalade in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 45 seconds on HIGH. Stir in 1 tablespoon paprika and 1 teaspoon cumin. Blend mixed nuts with marmalade mixture in medium mixing bowl until evenly coated. Spread nut mixture in a single layer in prepared pan.
3BAKE 10 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Break up mixture. Combine brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon cumin and cayenne pepper to taste. Sprinkle over cooled nuts, stirring to combine. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.
Another item to serve if you tired of just serving pizza slices is to serve a
LAYERED PIZZA DIP….serve with warm bagel crisps, bagel chips or even crackers…
1 (8-oz.) container soft cream cheese with chives and onions
1/2 cup chunky pizza sauce
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/3 cup finely chopped pepperoni
2 oz. (1/2 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
2 oz. (1/2 cup) shredded Cheddar cheese
1. Heat oven to 350°F. In ungreased 9-inch pie pan or 1 to 1 1/2-quart baking dish, layer all ingredients in order listed.
2. Bake at 350°F. for 10 to 15 minutes or until dip is hot and cheese is melted.
3. Serve warm with bagel crisps, bagel chips or crackers.
You should have something that’s a little heartier…like chicken wings or pigs in a blanket or small sandwich wraps etc,
Make a sparkling punch—make it fizzle by adding some pop rocks candy to it.
Have some sweet treats….maybe make some fudge with those leftover candy canes you have?
There’s a lot more you can add to this menu…just have an assortment of things…stuff that will feed many as you’re preparing it. You can even get fancy by sticking cheese cubes on a toothpick along with a green grape and then inserting all of them into an orange cut in half or a sturdier melon cut in half (used to call those “hedgehogs” years ago).

Make little pizzas on bagels. Lots of cheese! They are great and super easy.
