Why do retailers work so hard to keep black Friday prices secret when they are never able to stock anything?

from the black Friday ad even on the internet?
Black Friday is the day after US thanksgiving when retailers make a profit and has nothing to due with race or stock market crashes.

because of the lines they wont tell anyone the prices because if ppl knew what they had and and what ppl wanted and the lowest price the lines would be crazy and maybe cause problems

That’s an interesting question. I’ve thought that too before. If I were a retailer I think I’d want people to be aware of my sale.

But I think they have to have some kind of balance. If you disclose your ad too early, maybe customers don’t buy anything until black friday because they know they’ll get much better deals on black friday.

However, releasing the ad a week or two before black friday builds a lot of hype.

A lot of people are pretty fanatical about black friday and I’ve always liked seeing the ads before they come out. It allows me to plan ahead and figure out where I want to go shopping.
