What wine recommendation would you make for the traditional Thanksgiving meal?

I am looking for a rather inexpensive ($25 max) bottle of wine to take to the family Thanksgiving celebration. I am not sure what will compliment it the best, though. I’d love to get a wine from an Illinois Winery, if possible, too, to help local businesses, but all suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Serve white wine with white meat & red wine with red meat. Since turkey is a white meat, why not try a white Zinfendel?

Here are some good wines that I’ve tried while visiting that area (I’m originally from Indiana):

    From Fox Creek Vineyards:

    Chambourcin – $13.99
An off-dry red medium bodied, 100% Chambourcin grape wine with great aromas. Will age beautifully. A world class wine. Try it with any meat or game dish. Surprisingly good with light salads.

    Golden Fox – $12.99
A semi-dry white blend of French-American grapes with distinct overtones of Vidal and Seval. Very brisk with up front acids and a very pleasing finish. Try it alone or with white meat and fish dishes.

    From Lasata Wines, LLC:

    ‘04 Vintner‘s Select White
(Premium dry white) oak aged with creamy vanilla flavor. A good balance between wood and wine! $11.00

    ‘04 Vintner’s Select Red
Lighter bodied , but full of flavor! Wonderful hints of oak & with a little fruitiness. A nice light dry wine especially for those new to drinking drier wines! $16.00
