What is the significance of chinese new year songs?

well, people celebrate chinese new year every year and some of them sing songs too. I was wondering why we had to sing the songs and how it came about as a tradition….

    New Year is the longest and most important celebration according to the Chinese calendar. Chinese New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the lunar month and continue until the fifteenth of the month. Chinese New Year Dragons are represented as big and powerful representing the forces of nature. Super sized Oriental dragons are the biggest and grandest. They have been classified into different types the most popular ones being the Eastern Dragons having horns and whiskers and resembling like big snakes. Symbolic Chinese New Year Dragons represent as harbinger of rain and good luck. On the new year’s eve spectators throw firecrackers at the dragon’s feet to frighten away evil spirits and keep the dragon awake.

    They are so significant because its just tradition, like st patrick’s day in ireland.

    Chinese people use firecrackers to express their feelings during the Spring Festival…
    no songs at all, songs are for KTV, not for the family holiday…
