What are some good tips on making a fun home-based celebration of New Year’s Eve?

We are a couple of friends, who are celebrating new year’s eve at my place. As a host, I want to make this night fun and memorable. Can you give me some fun ideas, mostly small touches, like games that we can play or maybe some decorations or creating an ambient/atmosphere like candles for example, or some fun ways to serve food, or things to say at midnight, or music to create a good mood etc. etc.
Thanks in advance.

Get a club light for the house and put some great music… like latin music and dance away! Invite people that like to be the center of attention so they can make jokes. Make it casual because if it is too formal people will act like manaquins. Be laid back and Have Fun!

    Happy New Year 2008!

GREAT GAME – As everyone enters your house, at the door, tape the name of someone famous or talked about in the year 2007 on their backs. As the evening progresses, everyone must guess by asking questions of others who they are.
The winner – champagne of course.
    The runners up – ?

Great to see you making an impact in Trondheim mate. Keep living up to your potential! I’m certainly really interested now to follow this up, even without seeing you live! Good work :o)

The next time I learn a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I do know it was my option to read, however I really thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you might repair in case you werent too busy in search of attention.
