How successful are you on Black Friday?

So, i’m gunna go black friday shopping for the first time this friday and i was wondering, how likely is it that you will get the items that you wanted?. Do you think it’s worth it to wake up at 5 am to go get some stuff for just a couple bucks off?I’m not looking for anything huge, planning to spend less than a hundred bucks. and what are some tips for Black Friday shopping? thanks!

Oh and i’m 15 if that makes a difference in your recommendations.

I am very successful on Black Friday- I stay home and avoid the marketing trap.

Is it worth waking up at 5AM for a couple bucks off? I’d pay a couple bucks to have a few extra hours of sleep so not for me.

When you also consider the accidents and violence that accompany Black Friday I would say it is absolutely NOT worth it.

People get crazy over those couple of bucks. If you are that concerned about saving money use coupons and rebates the entire year.

Careful planning is the key to success. Plan your trips using one of the sites that posts “leaked” ads. Do your homework so you know a good deal from a so-so one. Doorbuster deals go quick so be prepared to stand in line for 15-30 minutes before the doors open. Some stores offer the same deals online so it pays to check.

I’ve found the ad site that I’ve linked below to be straight forward and pretty reliable in previous years. You don’t need to sign up to see their content.

I do not think it is worth waking up at 5 AM to be trampled to death by a Walmart stampede all over a stupid Tickle Me Elmo.

Dude it’s TOTALLY worth it, if nothing else just so you can experience the RUSH off running with the same wild shopping crowd! LoL!

Seriously though, you’ll probably find that many of these stores are going to extend their sales for several days – like it says here, http://blackfridaybestbuy2009.wordpress.com/ Friday is just the START of their countdown to Christmas sales, so they’ll probably restock and keep selling certain items at the lower prices. Good luck!

Stay home and shop online. Why get up that early for few deals you can find online.

5 Tips on How to make the best out of Black friday?

    1) Don’t spend more money then you have. Buy only things you really need.
    2) Use cash if possible. You will not be getting a deal if you use credit cards. Think of the interest you will pay evey month.
    3) Make sure the store has plenty of security. Just in case someone tries to snatch the last blue-ray player out of your hand.
    4) Just don’t buy something because it’s cheap. Go for quality merchandise that will last and keep your receipt.
    5) You can always shop online.

I am an avid bargain shopper and I don’t do Black Friday anymore. The shoppers are crazy and there are no parking spaces at all.
Mostly, i’ve found that 90% of the time, you can find BETTER deals during the year. As soon as the Black Friday flyers come out, I am re-assured of my shopping smarts when I see that I got something cheaper just a few months ago.

For example, I got my son a Giants sweatshirt for 60% off of $30 a few weeks ago and the Black Friday sale at the same store is offering 55% off of $30. That’s just one of many.

I did however notice that my local Wal-mart has the most to offer for Black Friday….$2 movies.

You should always shop smart, but if you enjoy shopping (I don’t) then you may enjoy the rush and competition that is offered on Black Friday.

if you get up at 5am whats the point, people get in line at 5pm on thanksgiving, and most stores only have 5 of each item people want anyways and they dont give out rain checks. i stay home i never been out on so called the biggest shopping day of the year and never will.

Ok so today is black friday and, i don’t know about you, but where i am NOBODYS out. I have gone to 5 stores this morning and, like, nothing is on sale. I asked the employees if there had been a lot of customers there in the morning and they said no. The only two places where people are shopping are walmart and best buy, and its not even that crowded. The best deal iv seen is a 100$ xbox, but sadly they could only give out ten and i didn’t camp out.
but that’s where i am, i wish everyone the best of luck

I’d say if you are there for one item, consider yourself successful! (Joking, but that’s me)

I’ve seen lines on Black Friday, but never thought my brother and I will be in one. We woke up at 3:30am to go to Best Buy. Of course the line was somewhat long and it was cold. We stayed till 5am for the doors to open. Our mission: purchase Left 4 Dead 2. Why is it worth it? Consider the original price being $59.99. At Best Buy, their price was $34.99. And as much as I love the game Left 4 Dead and wanted to have the second one as a birthday gift, I told my brother we will go and get it at that price. Thank goodness we didn’t need a ticket to have the discount since it was on selected games to be at that price (that includes Brutal Legend and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 = yes I want those games too but had to get one). Plus I had like $40 on me (birthday money).

All in all, we got the game and looked around to see how crazy Black Friday was. Thankfully no one pushed or shoved anyone. Everyone walked in and got what they want. Still, we had fun. All in all, it was a huge success. I saved so much money from buying the hottest game at an affordable price. Was it worth staying in line for nearly an hour and a half? Well…. yeah!

    That’s my story

I got what i wanted, my laptop and its all good, any way i also got a 360 game GTA4 for 10 bucks. for my brother. one hard drive for it i think its like a trill a bite, i have no idea what that means but i got it and from the sound of it it can hold a lot off stuff. PS I got at walmart at 3AM to look around and see what i wanted to buy and make sure i had enough money. Went back to the laptop that i wanted and found out they only had 11 I was number 9 in line and I’m typing this on my laptop This was my second year going now I’m hooked..

On the good side no one died from a stamped of people like last year.

I did pretty dam good if I do say so myself.. How did you do?

    Happy Holidays

It is not worth waking up 5am for Black Friday especially if most stores open at 5am. I know people who are waiting about midnight. I have never gone to one but did plan on doing it this year. Of course when the time came I couldn’t wake up. LOL I think I rather order online for some things and go shopping a a regular day for the rest. Its better to watch how other people on the News go crazy when the doors open.

i think it’s totally worth it. i got a bunch of stuff from Walmart, mall, and Bestbuy for half price or even over half price off. Come on people, this is the only day u dont need to sleep to much, plus u dont normaly see a lot of people every where at that time of the day so it kinda … fun and excited. ( luckily for me, i used to go to bed at 4am everyday so i have no problem for the doorbuster even.)
