How soon do you go christmas shopping?

There are some who shop for christmas all year, others who go the day after thanksgiving, some who go to the mall on Christmas Eve. How soon do you personally go Christmas shopping?

I try to start picking up things in October because I don’t like having to spend all my money in one month. Spreading it all out makes it more affordable.

All year long…..I look for high quality discounted items.

I shop about this time, especially if there is something I find that is unique for someone I know, I however do sing the christams carols all year round, yep sad state of affairs, big hugs, and merry christmas belated and early

I don’t. Christ has nothing to do with shopping.
however I will purchase an occasional Soltice gift for someone special.

I try to start around July. It is a lot easier to be sure that you can get exactly what everyone wants before the stores are sold out, plus that holiday madness and stress isn’t a factor! You can actually shop and enjoy it!!

Normally I start in Nov. That’s when my son’s birthday is and I always buy his birthday and holiday presents at once.

After each holiday throughout the year….that and a keen eye make it effortless…..well there is the season itself, and it becomes wayyyyyyyyyy easier to purchase last minute items that might be of desire to your families or friends….spreading it out throughout the year keeps you calm from the hype of Holiday Marketing…..Now, this does NOT keep me from Christmas shopping, but it keeps the stress factor way down……

I pick up things all year, and have a special storage space for just those things. If someone on my list wants something “seasonal”, like a christmas sweater, then I have to wait until the stores have them out, or order it online. I try to get as much done as I can before Nov. Even have my Christmas cards done by Nov. 1st.

Although I may spot shop throughout the year, the serious stuff doesn’t occur until after Thanksgiving

i wait until the day after christmas because everything is on sale and you get twice as much as you would otherwise…..my kids love it too for the same reason…… since we don’t actually know when christ was born, what difference does it make when we celebrate it.

I usually don’t start until after Thanksgiving. I have on occasion picked up a few things before that.

Usually I order my Christmas from ABC Distributing in October and pay for them when they start arriving. But this year, I just can not for the life of me get into it. So, my husband and I have decided that we are not going to exchange gifts this year with either of our families; instead, this year we are going to give a substantial monetary gift to a needy cause through our church. With what is left over, we plan on buying each other a gift. We have been married 18 years and have only bought one another a Christmas gift one time. We have never been able to afford buying gifts for our families and us too, so we choose to buy for our families. I am looking forward in buying something special for my husband this year.

This year I started in September. I will spend $200 eash month for the three of them. That way December and during the New Year I will have money to spend on me.

I’ve always gone either the first or second Saturday in December. I used to have to do that because I would go to my elementary school’s Christmas gift store to buy them and they were only done the first or second Friday and Saturday of December. Then I grew out of doing that and plus they had a lot less and a lot crappier stuff. Now I go to Target on the 1st or 2nd Saturday in December and buy gifts for my immediate family plus closest friends of family. Personally I think any day before after Thanksgiving is too early and going shopping on Black Friday is insane.

I’ll start around November 10th-12th. I enjoy the atmosphere and thinking about what I can give that will be meaningful and appreciated. I want to savor that through the Christmas season… just buying one gift here and there over the course of about 6 weeks.

I start in july or august and usually am done by the end of october. Then I wrap them and do my cards, the ones I don’t send online .

But really a good Christmas shopper goes all year round to find the perfect gifts.

I go as soon as Halloween comes.I almost gotten mine done.

I keep my eye out for things for the people on my list the whole year but I don’t actively shop until September. If I start early then I can but nicer gifts than if I left it till late in the year. Works great for my budget and I never have a credit card christmas.

I’m starting my Christmas shopping after the first of october. If I find the perfect gift for someone though, I will buy it even if its the day after christmas. If you have young boys that are into remote controls cars, you can get some very good deals after christmas. I bought a 200 dollar tank for 25 dollars. Keep track of what you get. I was kicking myself in the butt last year because I didnt keep track of how much I bought ( 5000 dollars worth) and had to wrap it all.

Holiday shopping is exciting but unfortunately it also bring stressful hours spent in crowded shopping malls.
Now you can have a stress free christmas shopping:

I always have good intentions and buy a gift or two early, like in September.
But I always end up shopping in December and fighting the crowds.

  37. sb said :

I haven’t started yet but I have been thinking on what kind of gifts to get. I want to give more meaningful gifts this year so I will be looking for christian gifts. Like for kids instead of a secular movie or video game get a Christian or at least moral one. Along those lines also for adults 🙂 Don’t want them to forget that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!
