I try to make it less and less each year. Tips: I try to never buy anything that is not on sale. I try to never buy anything that is not at least 50% off, I try to buy during peak season sales (when items are 75%+ off). So, what I spent this year is (hopefully) a great savings from last year. P.S. I’m Starting to EXPECT free shipping now too!!!

I have done little shopping I am a procrastinator, but so far the most money I have spent was for our family angel! every year my husband and I take the kids to the store and let them choose a angel from the salvation army tree.. We then shop for our angel as a family, letting our kids pick out gifts to give! I think it is important to teach my children to give to others, and when we do this, they not only get a good lesson in giving but another child gets to benefit from there kindness.

NOT MUCH. ABOUT 20 BUCKS. I GOT SOME SMALL STUFF FOR MY GF. I’M REALLY BROKE THIS YEAR SO NOBODY’S REALLY GETTING ANYTHING. THAT REALLY SUCKS BECAUSE MY GF DESERVES MORE THAN WHAT I CAN ACTUALLY GET HER THIS YEAR. BUT ILL MAKE IT UP TO HER.

700.00 plus extra groceries another 200 and while I am standing in line another 100 haha but true. I cut it all back to 50 dollars each and request a list so I make sure they get something they really want! You can still a pretty good wow for 50 dollars. Budget got cut in half when gas prices shot up poor shopping centers and dry cleaners and nail places you all got put on back burner. But the kids all got Christmas!

Unfortunately, I’ve spent $0 so far. Hopefully that will change this weekend. We’ll see after I get my paycheck.

I decided to break from my spending habits of past years. I decided to give people gifts more in line with the value of what I’ve gotten from them in past years.

So this year, I’m not getting anybody anything!

I used to search long and hard for the perfect, thoughtful gift, and would sometimes spend a lot. My giftees are never appreciative and don’t even try to make an effort to give me a gift, so I decided to save my money this year. I don’t make much, and I figure nobody will notice the lack of gifts anyway.

    Example:
My mom adores this Pendleton jacket that she found at a thrift store 15 years ago. I ordered a new Pendleton blanket with the same pattern (Chief Joseph) and paid $150 plus for it. She opened the box, looked at it (didn’t take it out) and said it was nice. It hasn’t left the box in 3 years. HOWEVER…after I bought the blanket, she found an $8 knock-off Pendleton fleece blanket at Walgreens that she uses all the time.
