How do you host a Halloween party on a tight budget?

I am wanting to host an adult Halloween party without breaking the bank. What are some suggestions for decorations, food, etc.? What do you even do at an adult Halloween party? Sadly, I don’t think I have been to an actual party but I do love Halloween and love entertaining so I need some really good, inexpensive ideas!

    Pot luck and BYOB
Write movie stars names on a piece of paper and then pin to the back of each guest
Then each guest will try with hints from each other to guess what stars name they are wearing

Well if people attending is really like close to you you can ask BYW (Bring Your Own Wine) or a dish (my vote goes for the spirits since they are the more expensive item and this way everybody drinks what they like too), as for decorations Wal-Mart holds a nice selection and at really cheap prices

We have a block adult Halloween party every year with an outdoor fire place, pot luck, and costume contest. Scary sound effects music for background. And lots of outdoor scary music. Bring your own beverage. See website below for ideas.

    bonfire
    BYOB
    tv playing scary movies
You can gather scrap wood from construction sites that they are throwing away. cut the wood into tombstones and paint gray/green/black.
    play cd’s in another area
have everyone bring a snack tray of some sort

Consider a Halloween themed treasure hunt that can run throughout your event. Check out http://www.mastersofthehunt.com/adults-scavenger-hunt.php The Haunted Hunt was designed to be hosted at an adult Halloween party. Have fun!

First you need Dry ice you can find in phone book or a good grocery store. You add to poweraid, koolaid, applejuice.Nothing already carbonated the ice does it for you.And no matter how old you are the smoke and bubbling is cool! Then you need to go to Get some teeth and put in watermelon.Put teeth close enought to hold in candy or fresh fruit it makes a cool display. And dont forget to use some in pumpkins they are the hit of the party since they are not in stores yet! Then play pass spagetti for intestines and small hard boiled eggs for eyes etc. While you tell a scary story in the dark.My mom did this when we were kids and 30 yrs later i still remeber!Good luck and happy halloween..

well, beer is hella nasty…so I think you should just go to the liquor store and get some vodka or something. Mix it with whatever you like. For food, I think you can make some homemade stuff. Im sure there are simple recipes. Generic ingredients. Its the same thing as the name brand item most of the time. For your costume, I think you should splurge on one. They have some really sexy ones at the Halloween stores. They have great selection. Bobbing for apples is always fun! Music…Make sure its not ugly music. Have a variety. I hope it turns out good!!!

    Hi

I think the others have given you a lot of party ideas but here is a link for great deals on Halloween lighting and other things such as fog machines if you are interested.

You will not get better prices elsewhere. They also have special deals like 10% off on Halloween items along with free shipping the last time I checked.
