Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

I just finished today. I will probably pick up a couple of things between now and Christmas, but as far as what I have to get, I am done.

When do you start Christmas shopping, and do you ever have a goal to be finished by?

I used to start and finish early (like by December 1), but this year, I am waiting until much later to start, because the closer it gets to Christmas, the more I feel like shopping, and by then I’m done and don’t get to go, so I’m waiting….but I do have a few things….

Wow, finished! My parents and I usually start mid november. We are buying them until days before Christmas. We don’t have goal either.

I have been “Holiday” shopping for some time now…

This will be my daughter’s first Christmas and money is tight so I am spreading out the list a little… I have a lot of people to buy for and she is only about 1/3 of the way done…

My hope is to finish the week of Thanksgiving… I HATE Black Friday because I used to work in retail management but this year I will actually be venturing out into the depths of hell to spread my buck a little further…

    Wish me luck!!!

I start right after Thanksgiving, and try to be done by the 23rd, so I can spend the 24th drunk thinking about how much I have spent.

We are only buying for children this year so I am starting and finishing my shopping this weekend! Last year I was standing in lines on 12/23 – definitely not going to repeat that! I hate that panicky feeling of at the last minute having to buy someone something that is the same price as everyone else’s so someone else doesn’t get jealous but something they like and can use….OMG it’s torture!!!

Just got my FIRST gift last wk. It was on sale, I couldn’t “resist it”…A beautiful initial necklace pendant for my Granddaughter. Still NOT use to buying only ONE Granddaughter gift, but I still looked to see IF they had another one w/her initial on it anyway. Just a habit. I pick up things whenever I see who might want what. I envy you tho having yours ALL DONE! I also have B.D. gifts that month too, so that makes it doubly hard. Never know what to give for B.D, what to give for Christmas. Seems like the older one gets, the harder it is because everyone gets what they need when they want it, so they get things themselves. Your “day” will come too!..:)

No, I don’t have $ in the budget until Dec 1st. So even if I wanted to go shopping I couldn’t. All our money is tied up in the home purchase and remodel.

I never have a goal. Our kids are too wishy-washy about what they want and change their minds often. I wish I could say I get it done early, but I don’t. I have seven kids to shop for, which I usually start a list in early November with what each one is getting…and start getting the items a few per week.

Snarky does none of the shopping for the five older kids, but randomly buys for the two younger kids, which throws our budget out of whack. He buys my present at the last minute. I know this because his charge doesn’t ever hit the bank account until the week after Christmas.

We pick up items all year long, we have a “hiding place” that we put things we find throughout the year that way when Christmas rolls around we have a good start.

i usually like to panic 2 days before Christmas and start then. this year i have my husband convinced we should start on Black Friday. i don’t think he knows what he’s in for.

i haven’t started yet but i have my list almost completely finished so i know what we are getting everyone before we go.

and my goal this year is to not procrastinate. i am not going to luck out like i did last year. i got really expensive jewelry for all the women at 80% off last year because a store was closing. no luck like that this year. i’d like to be done before December.
