Has your Christmas shopping and spending changed drastically this year?

I find myself not spending as much this Christmas, and even not getting gifts for every single person. Is anyone else in this same situation. Does anyone still have to get any Christmas shopping done?

I finished my Christmas shopping today. I did not spend as much money this year and I bought way less gifts.

My husband and I reduced our spending this year too. We bought a lot of used DVD’s from amazon.com and made gifts for our friends.I think everyone will still be pleased though. I still have to pick up a couple of things today to finish of two of the homemade gifts, then I’m done!

I have spent about half as much as I used to.I’ve noticed that I have had to put more thought into each gift so they will still like them.I still have 2 people to buy for.The hardest people.

it’s the economy. thanks to good ole GW we’re all in a bit of a mess these days.

but I haven’t lost a job or anything so I should be thankful. My girlfriend left me last summer after 3 years so this year I’m on my own so things are a bit tighter.

I think I’ll still buy her something though. Perhaps mail her a dildo so she can go screw herself.

Blah, I finished my shopping last night.
And I was really carefully looking at the money I still had left
    and what I was buying.

I actually spent more, I was unemployed last year and had a really crappy job the year before so I wasn’t able to spend very much, this year I am making way more and trying to make up for the last couple of years. But I’m still probably spending way less than most people.

I have actually spent more, due to my line of work the “economy” hasn’t hurt me.

I still have to get a lot. I’ve gotten for one aunt and my parents, my brother-in-law and mother-in-law. I have great-nieces and nephews still, my grandmother, a great-aunt, and especially my husband. We’ve cut back a lot, too. We used to spend $100.00 on each other, but now my husband and I are spending $75, and worrying that it’s too much. The biggest gift for anyone else is $35.00 for his 90 year old mother. I feel like I should be doing more, but we just can’t.

not really ..but glad you asked this question… my own mother taught me how to budget shop years ago..and how to take advantage of after clearance sales as well as shop all year long…and thanks to moms wise advice my shopping is done..and got plenty .. a great idea is too start a christmas gift container and when sees a bargain pick em up and stash away till christmas ..happy holidays..
