Not from a retail point of view ……..they only have 9 weeks to sell it all.

I actually drove past a house today with lights up!….

We have started planning our Chrsitmas parties.

No decorations yet though, its our rule not to put the tree up till Dec 1st!………But that doesnt mean Im not getting organised!

Not really. Some people go to great lengths to decorate their homes for the holidays. Finding just the right decorations can sometimes take time. If Christmas decorations are in the store in October, I can start buying things as they catch my eye and be ready when the holidays really hit instead of being frantic trying to get it all up in time just to take it right back down again.

come the end of September I’ve usually run out of gift wrap- so I am always on the lookout for for gift wrap before the shops start stocking it.
I like to get my shopping done early.

I start planning my christmas theme in June- by October I know which ornaments I want to buy and start buying them as soon as they hit the shelves.

They put the stock up at that time because people like me are looking to buy these things at this time of year. Any earlier than the second week of September is too early, it’s okay for giftwrapping supplies but decorations should wait till October.

The stores here also have there decorations out. I use to think it was way to early, but by them putting them out early I am able to see what they have and then try and save a few dollars for a couple of new things every year.

Lol no I love that the Xmas decor comes out in October, it gives us time to get things before all the good stuff is sold out. I went shopping on Saturday and bought a new tree and lots of decorations and lights for it. I ended up spending $500 on all of it .

I usually put my tree up on the first day of December but when I got the tree home I couldn’t just leave it in the box I was too excited so I put the tree up that day lol. Everyone’s like ” isn’t it a bit too early to have the tree up “. But it’s my house I’ll do what I like and it’s there for me to enjoy not them. I just thought if I’m going to spend that much on the tree/decorations I want to be able to enjoy it for more than just 4 weeks of December.

So in my opinion, no it’s not too early :p

you ain’t the only one out there. even i think that october is way too early to put christmas stuff out. i love christmas and stuff but october is 2 months too early. in my point of view it makes christmas more commercialized and people forget what christmas is about.
