Because its where Christians reflect on Christs sacrifice through crucifixion and to give thanks for what he did. Today we use it as a way to get a jump start on great prices for christmas gifts and what not. It should be a holiday because it gives stores a chance to rake in much needed money and gives customers great deals. Its generally put on all in good faith so why not let it be? I mean, its not really causing any negative effects except sleep deprivation and people usually fix that by starting their bed time at Noon that day anyways. All in all, its just a holiday because we need a holiday. ‘Nuff said. -LOL-
