Why is Thanksgiving Eve considered the biggest party night of the year?

I am not sure about the rest of the country, but in New Jersey/New York clubs make a big deal out of Thanksgiving Eve parties. They claim that its a bigger event than New Years eve. Is this how it is where u live? Why do u think this is such?

No way. Here in the South, the biggest are 1. New Year’s Eve, 2. Halloween, 3. Super Bowl Sunday. Thanksgiving Eve would fall pretty far down the list.

Same thing in Boston, It is strange I would have thought it would have been New Years eve. If your not in the Bar by 8 oclock your waiting in a line 2 blocks away until people start leaving.
A lot of family & friends go home on thanksgiving too, so friends from college that went away for school are coming home to there family for thanksgiving and meeting up with all there old high school friends to party while there home.
I can imagine that It also can be pretty stressful for some people, spending a little “too much time” with the family calls for a good night of drinking the night before.

Naw dude, it’s definitely New Year’s Eve. Granted unlike most holidays, Thanksgiving can be a longer weekend than most holidays.
