When is the best time to start putting Christmas decorations out?

I know traditionally in the US most people go with the day after Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving evening after dinner etc. I myself love Christmas, I have decorations for all the rooms in my house and I put up several trees.(we have a big house) I think with all the work involved it is best to have them up earlier. When in your opinion is too early??
Is Nov 1st too early?
my decoration are usually down & put away by Dec 26-27.

I would say the earliest would be early to mid nov. My decorations are usually up before thanksgiving.

best time is the oddest moments really, like halloween then again im just silly. but if you think about it, your house needs to dress up as well, so why not make it a Christmas house… lol

I’d say a week after Thanksgiving is best. As for the tree itself, I’d be wary about putting it up more than 3 weeks early, since it will begin to lose needles, wilt, dry out after it’s up for a while.

Most importantly, I think, is knowing when to take down the decorations. We have neighbors who kept up giant inflatable Santas and Snowmen until March 26 one year. Decorations should be put away before Jan. 10, and that’s being pretty generous.

I also love decorating for Christmas. I usually start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. I always feel like that doing it before Thanksgiving would minimize the fall holidays and excitement of Christmas if they are up too soon. However, in the big scheme of things decorating never hurts anything. Maybe you could start with some of the smaller rooms on Nov. 1’st and wait to do the living room when it gets closer. Have fun and good luck with all of your decorating 🙂

It honestly doesn’t really matter, put them up whenever you want. For outside decorations you might wait to actually turn them on until a later time, but if you want to go ahead. My dad and I had to put up our Christmas lights on Saturday, because it’s probably the last weekend that will be warm enough (not to mention that we had enough time for it). I plan on decorating my room in early November. My mom won’t let us put up any other decorations until the 13th and 14th though and will have us take them all down around the 26th. So really… just whenever is convenient.

Whenever you want to put them up is the answer! My mother and I usually put the decorations up a week before Thanksgiving because we love to decorate, and like you we put multiple tree’s in our house. It’s just so much fun to watch the pretty lights. I’ll admit November 1st does sound a bit early but that’s because my mother and I never started at that time. But if it works out better for you, then I’d say it’s okay.

I would def. wait til after Halloween. I think the middle of November would be good but it is up to you when you want to put them up. Personally I do not want them up before Thanksgiving. But that is me, plus we get a real tree so I have to wait til December.

Midway through November or at the start of December, mine go up.
If I put them up too early, I find I get slightly sick of them by the time Christmas comes.

Once I put mine up on Veteran’s Day and I was tired of them. Usually the week of Thanksgiving is good.
