What are some things that you can make to give as christmas gifts?

I don’t have a lot of money to buy gifts for christmas and a few of my friends don’t have a lot of money to spend either so I was thinking about getting supplies to make things to give as christmas gifts to family members. Any Ideas?

You can buy plain ornaments (dollar store) and some paint and write their names on the ornament, tie some ribbon and there you have it.

Jar recipies are easy, kids can do too, you can decorate as much as you wish.

Basically, places like recipezaar.com and search for jar.

You can do soups, cookies, etc.. premixing all the dry ingredients, sometimes decorative layers, etc..

Other homemade crafts Ive received in the past include Stationary (hand stamped letters & envelopes) some with my address pre written in callography.

Photos on DVD. (great for family) collection of the year in photos, birthdays, etc.. Photoshopped almost like a scrapbook with sayings, borders, etc.

Can also use online printshop programs to make a calander, using family photos. (or you and your friends)

    Just a few suggestions.

Here is a site that gives many ideas for home made gifts. If you scroll down a little bit each numbered item is a link which gives directions on how to make the item. I did the “cookie in a jar” last year and everyone loved it!

cookies, pies, soup kits that you can make yourself. You put all the dry ingredients into a jar and add a cute ribbon and instructions to add water, an egg, etc and cooking instructions.

A photo slide show of fun things you and your friends did this year on CD or a cheap thumb drive.

Or…you can do what my girlfriends and I do , we stopped exchanging gifts and have a big meal once a year. We all get together for hours and have a blast! no gifts, just a lot of fun!

Take a large empty wine bottle, push a small strand of white Christmas lights into it (about 2-3 feet), and wrap a sheer gold ribbon with an ornate decoration around the neck, like frosted grapes with leaves. The dollar store carries them. They are so pretty when lit up! My cousin made me one, and I love it!
