Thanksgiving sales, What is it like? Tips?

Hi, I just moved to El Paso and wanted to know what is this about thanksgiving sales?
Do they last from Thursday to Sunday?
What are the top recommendations to do?
I was thinking about buying a psp does anyone knows how much will it cost that day?
If I camp, will I get into the store early? Or is it like a race begins when the doors open?

    Black Friday!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah, the joy of frantic, competitive shopping! Many stores have what’s called “Door Busters”. That means that when the stores open, they will have special deals for a predetermined amount of time. Then, there are other deals that last until the specific merchandise is gone.

To take advantage of these special deals, people camp out all night and wait in line to be the first ones in the store. Some stores have hyped-up security and allow a specific number of people in at a time. At other stores, when the doors open it’s a free-for-all so you really could just get there at the last minute and barge your way in.

The things that will be on sale are advertised in the Thanksgiving Day paper. So you can get the paper, study it thoroughly, and plan your route of attack.

    Those are the basics.

For a PSP, there usually aren’t any outrageous deals. Some stores might offer bundles that include the game system and a game or other accessories, but they are usually at a very small discount as compared to purchasing the items separately.

I also find that the majority of things that are offered at huge discounts are cheap items. You’re not really going to get anything great for a really great price.

I say that, but I go every year! I don’t miss it! I camp out with a lawn chair, blankets, food, drinks, computer, movies, mp3 player and all that. It’s fun meeting all the different people and it’s a fun way to top off the day.

So that’s it in a nutshell. Your best bet is to get the paper on Thanksgiving day, scour the papers to see if there are any deals you want, then decide if you want to go.

Remember that some stores will allow you to get a price adjustment, so you may be able to buy before Black Friday, avoid the chaos and get the price you wanted. Also know that many stores honor the prices of other stores so long as you can show them the ad of the exact same product. This means less stores you have to try and visit.

In the past I have used this strategy: Let’s say Walmart has an mp3 player I want on sale and Target has a TV. If they honor each other’s prices, I go to the opposite stores to get what I want. So while everyone is fighting at Walmart for the mp3 players, I get mine at Target without having to compete for it. And while they are fighting at Target for the TV, I get it at Walmart without a hitch.

So Happy Thanksgiving and good luck with Black Friday!

    Google: “black Friday”
A bunch of sites will come up with the ads from a many stores.
You can find out now what each store will be advertising then (meaning their best deals).
    Good Luck

Good Luck! You may get trampled on and knocked to the ground. If you ask me, it’s not worth it.
