Yes, there is generally lots happening in most major Germanic cities and towns between the holidays. In some places I have found end-of-the-year sales around that time of year, though often they are right after New Year’s. You may also find many of the Christmas markets are still open, too. On New Year’s Eve, called Sylvester in German-speaking countries, restaurants will stay open but shops may close early. Have a great time!
