How do you save up money for Christmas Shopping?

My daughter wants to do her own “christmas shopping” this year. She is 13 years old, and I told her that if she wants to do her own shopping, then she has to save up her own money. She needs at least 100 dollars, and I’m only giving her 20. How can she make 80 dollars in a month? Please answer, make it detailed and you will get best answer. Thanks

Hi! I’m about the same age! I have been doing this for some years now. If I dont have a lot of money I go to the dollar store. Dont tell anyone. Haha! ONLY if I dont have enough for other things. Ask her if she wants to work around the house and earn some money. tell her to ask her relatives if they need any house cleaning or work done around the house. i get 20 bucks every 2 weeks from my aunt for cleaning, taking care of her dog and other work. hope i helped!!!!!!!

I started doing my “own” Christmas shopping around that age also. My dad gave me about $35 and the rest I had to save up. I needed more than $100 though since I have an abnormally large family. So I babysat some of the little kids in my neighborhood and I got a lot of money from doing that. I also had a Winter bake sale with one of my sisters. That was really cute. We made ginger bread men and other Christmas cookies and we had hot chocolate which didn’t stay ver hot, due to the weather, We made some money from doing that. But the babysitting was what got the most.

    Oh that is sooo sweet!
Ohmm there is a website called http://www.salesstock.com
she can buy very nice gifts from there without spending lots of money.
(perfumes for like 15 dollars or so…brand names, cool things)
Check it out, and tell her… so when she save some money she can get even more gifts than buying it on a regular store.

I am fourteen and I do my own Christmas shopping. I have for awhile now. I babysit on weekends and school breaks, and I save up the money I get for good grades. I do chores for a few dollars a week and I am planning on cleaning my grandfather’s house out for about $50, it is a huge mess. I hope this will give you some ideas on how your daughter can raise money 🙂

shovel snow or rake leaves… i used to do this with a group of friends when i was her age, and we’d walk away with serious cash sometimes, a few times we made over 600 in a day, but that was for snow, i think raking we made about 250… get some friends together and it works, bring rakes and bags or shovels

Your daughter could ask relatives and friends to allow her to do some tasks to earn money. 13 year olds can always babysit, do laundry, do yardwork, etc. Another great thing my daughter is doing is trading — she lists her unwanted items on a trade group and exchanges for new, giftable items. It does two things — cleans the house and saves us big time $$. We use this site: http://s1.zetaboards.com/Swaps_N_Wishes/index/
