Do you find yourself using the same Christmas decorations to decorate your Christmas tree with every year?

well my family has one of those 7 foot Martha Stewart Christmas that came with lights on it, I feel that we have to get more garland to put on the tree because it is too big and you see more green than decorations, any way do you find yourself using the same decorations for your tree every year when you told yourself you were going to buy new ones because the old ones were worn out.

On our christmas tree there are decorations from years and years ago.. it is nice to blend new with old 🙂 I make sure I buy at least 2 new decoations every year (we have a small tree.. so it is easy to re stock)

We use the same decoration to decorate our Christmas tree. If these decorations are still nice and kept in one piece, then it would be a silly thing throwing them out. Christmas is only one time a year, so no one can actually find his or her decorations boring is the person sees it once a year.

Actually, I haven’t put up a tree in about 5 or 6 years, since I won one in a radio contest. (!) And when that one was up,. my dog ate most of the decorations I put on it. Well, technically, the cats would climb the tree and knock them off for her and she ate them off the floor. Always when I was asleep or not at home. Which, of course, explains why I haven’t put one up since. If I did, I’d have to buy new ornaments.

Christmas decorations can be fun. We sometimes have one tree and sometimes 4. We separate the decorations. We started with an “everything we had” tree. Now we have a tree that features angels and different combinations of clear glass, gold, Burgundy and green bulbs. After 911 we started an America tree, where we collect red white and blue ornaments and aviation ornaments (rockets, flying Santa’s). This tree is special to our son and it is to honor our soldiers. We sometimes have a memory tree which is all of the home made stuff, gift ornaments and old mismatched family ornaments.
Each year we go with the mood we are in when we decorate.
Tree decorating parties are also a great way to build a new stock of ornaments.
We have sticks with red berries and sticks with white magnolias or gold glitter and different things from the floral store (all bought 75% off after Christmas) that work colorwise with the different themes and also help fill out the tree.

I typically decorate 2 -3 trees. In doing so I am able to use my favorite decorations on one of the trees, another is used for cherished home made decorations made by my children and the third is ALWAYS decorated in an unusual manner. This year it will have ALL Disney figurines on it.

We only have a few ornaments (very small tree, although I’ve begun decorating the houseplants as well). I prefer to keep and display the old ornaments, since almost all of our ornaments were handmade by friends and family and carry special memories. They’re pretty eclectic–everything from cross-stitch owls to painted walnut shells to polymer clay penguins.

The only commercial ornaments I have are very old, and are a bunch of tiny pewter ornaments given to me by my godparents when I was a child– so they still have sentimental significance.

Of course, I still make or receive a few new ornaments each year. I’m hoping that by the time we have room for a “real” tree, I’ll have enough to decorate the entire tree in handmade ornaments.

Most of the time. Sometimes we add different decors.
